If you're like me you're sick and tired of taping a batten to your bow to function as a doinker to hold up your spin sheet / guy. Over the years I've seen everything from coat hangers to paint stirrers and even a frying pan handle used as a bow doinker. Invariably, they always fall off at the worst possible moment (during a race) and your sheets end up under the boat, slowing you down and sending your foredeck crew scrambling to get them right again before the mark rounding. Well - no more!
We've designed our bow doinker to be 100% fool proof. It will never come off on it's own - yet it's easy to put on and take off without removing your forestay. It is completely rust proof - cast in 100% rust proof zinc material with stainless steel fasteners. The bow doinker measures 5" X 1.5" X 1.5" and comes with a 5/8" wide X 12" long batten. The entire setup weighs less than a pound.
The Bow Doinker is designed to fit over a 1" wide stem (standard on a J/22, J/24 and many others). The physical dimensions of the slot built to accommodate the stem fitting are 0.2" deep X 1.1" wide X 1.3" high
